Found $847/month in wasted PPC spend I didn't know about — here's exactly how I found it

Post Body

I've been selling on Amazon for about 3 years. Running Sponsored Products campaigns the whole time, never really digging deep into my Search Term Reports because honestly they're a pain to analyze. Last month I finally downloaded my report and went through it properly. The breakdown was rough: - 312 search terms had received clicks - 89 of those had ZERO conversions — ever - Combined spend on those dead-end terms: $847 that month alone I had no idea. My campaigns looked fine at the campaign level. ACoS was "okay." But underneath, nearly a third of my budget was going to searches that had never once resulted in a purchase. **What I actually did:** 1. Downloaded the CSV from Seller Central (Reports → Advertising Reports → Search Term) 2. Uploaded it to SellerOS (free tool, no Amazon account access needed) 3. Got a waste report in about 60 seconds 4. Added all the flagged terms as negatives Month-over-month my ACoS dropped from 34% to 24% after making those cuts. Sharing in case anyone else hasn't done this audit recently. It's worth 5 minutes of your time. (Happy to answer questions about the process)

PSA: Your Search Term Report is hiding profit you're leaving on the table every month

Post Body

Quick PSA for anyone who hasn't manually audited their Search Term Report recently. The Search Term Report is one of the most valuable reports Amazon gives you — and most sellers either glance at it occasionally or ignore it entirely because sorting through thousands of rows is exhausting. Here's what it contains that you're probably missing: **Zero-converting search terms** — keywords where Amazon has been spending your money, often for months, with zero purchases ever resulting. These are pure waste. Amazon will never flag these for you automatically. **High-spend, low-ROAS terms** — terms that get clicks and occasionally convert, but at a cost that's killing your margins. **Hidden winners** — searches that convert at 2-3x your average rate but have low bids because they haven't been identified as performers. The problem is that doing this analysis manually requires sorting, filtering, cross-referencing spend vs. conversions, and then building a negative keyword list. Most sellers skip it because it takes 3+ hours. I've been doing this audit monthly for the last year and it's made a bigger difference to my bottom line than any other optimization. If you want to try automating it, there are a few tools that do this. The key metrics to focus on are: zero conversions with any spend, and high-spend terms below a minimum ROAS threshold. Happy to walk through the manual Excel process in the comments if anyone wants.

How I automatically identify zero-conversion search terms in Amazon PPC (no Excel required)

Post Body

Sharing a workflow I've refined for Amazon Sponsored Products negative keyword optimization. **The Core Problem** Amazon's Search Term Reports contain thousands of rows. The waste signals are buried in there, but extracting them manually involves sorting, VLOOKUP or INDEX/MATCH, cross-referencing multiple columns, and then building negative keyword lists — it's tedious and error-prone. **What I Look For** I focus on two waste categories: 1. **Zero-conversion terms** — any search term with ≥1 click and 0 orders across the entire report window (I use 60-90 days). These are pure waste regardless of ACoS because ACoS is undefined. 2. **High-spend, low-ROAS terms** — terms above a spend threshold (I use $20+) with ROAS below my category breakeven (typically 3-4x for my products). **The Automated Approach** I built a tool (SellerOS) that ingests the Search Term Report CSV and flags both categories automatically. It runs in about 60 seconds and outputs a copy-paste ready negative keyword list. **Results from my last audit:** - 89 zero-conversion terms consuming $847/month - 23 high-spend/low-ROAS terms consuming an additional $312/month - Total reclaimed: $1,159/month after adding negatives ACoS moved from 34% → 24% over the following 30 days. The tool is free to start at selleros.org if anyone wants to try it on their own account. Happy to discuss the methodology or the detection logic in more detail.

I built a tool to solve my own Amazon PPC problem. Went from bleeding $1,100/month in waste to profitable in 60 days.

Post Body

Background: I've been selling physical products on Amazon for 3 years. Last year my revenue was "okay" but my profit was terrible and I couldn't figure out why. I kept blaming my product margins, my competition, rising FBA fees. Everything except the actual culprit. The culprit was my PPC. I was spending $3,200/month on Amazon ads. When I finally dug into my Search Term Report — really dug in — I found $1,100 of that was going to search terms that had never once produced a sale. Dead money. Every single month. **The problem with fixing this manually** The Search Term Report is a CSV with thousands of rows. Finding zero-conversion terms requires filtering, sorting, and cross-referencing multiple columns. Doing it right takes 3-4 hours. I was doing it every few months at best, and even then I'd miss things. **What I built** I built SellerOS — a tool that takes your Search Term Report CSV and flags every wasted dollar automatically. You upload the file, it runs the analysis in ~60 seconds, and gives you a copy-paste ready list of negative keywords to add. No Amazon account access required. Just the CSV you download from Seller Central. **Results** After adding the flagged negatives: - Month 1: ACoS dropped from 34% → 27% - Month 2: ACoS dropped to 24% - Net profit increase: ~$1,400/month on the same revenue I launched it publicly about 2 months ago. It's free to start. Biggest lesson: solve your own problem first, then see if other people have the same one. Turns out a lot of Amazon sellers do. Happy to answer questions about the build or the Amazon PPC side of things.
